PRIDE month show

PRIDE is a big event and our cameras will be there. Look for us, say hello, and then watch the episode to see yourself and everything you missed.

I am also proud to say that I begin my series on LGBT VOTE 08 with an interview with Jared Polis. He is one of three progressive candidates for US Congress in CD 2.

I also had a chance to sit down the the PRIDE Parade Grand Marshal before the parade... Donna Rose.

Coming Up in April on Colorado OutSpoken

The April edition of Colorado OutSpoken will air on Sunday, April 27 at 10:00 PM on KBDI Channel 12.

In this show, we have Part 2 of our fascinating discussion about transgender youth coming out. Michelle Benzor-Marquez, the mother of a 15-year old male-to-female transgender child, and Dr. Elizabeth Bethea, a Boulder psychologist specializing in trans issues, are our guests. Fawn Oates leads the discussion.

The 7th Annual "Bear to Make a Difference" gala dinner and celebrity Teddy Bear auction, which is hosted by The Matthew Shepard Foundation, was just held in Denver. Our crews were there for the main event -- and also for "Comedy Night", a pre-party held at Hamburger Mary's. Eden Lane attended the party, and talked with comedian and television star Alec Mapa.

Tom Biddle sits in this month for Rick Miller to bring us the news. We have stories on potential trouble for the federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act and for a federal hate crimes bill, how equal marriage affects the bottom-line of many businesses, the Pentagon's efforts to rewrite history in the case of a fallen US gay soldier, and much more.

And, of course, Professor Fawn is back with great advice on sex and relationships. This month, Professor Fawn answers questions about jumping back into the dating game too soon, exceptionally large sex organs, and transgender people letting it all hang out.

There's also a great movie -- the second production of the guy who brought us "Super Size Me". This one is called "Where in the World is Osama bin Laden". We have ten pairs of tickets to give away!

It's all brought to you by your host, Stephen Montez. You don't want to miss all this great stuff, do you?? Of course not! See you on Sunday!

Coming up in March on Colorado OutSpoken!

We're back! Our end-of-February show was preempted by special programming on KBDI (how can anything be more SPECIAL than Colorado OutSpoken???), but we're back on our regular schedule for March.

The next show is on Sunday, March 30 at 10:00 PM on KBDI Channel 12.

We have Part One of an insightful discussion about issues facing young people wrestling with gender identity. Our guests are a Boulder psychotherapist (Dr. Elizabeth Bethea) who specializes in this area and a mom (Michelle Benzor-Marquez) of a 15-year old girl who feels trapped in a boy's body. Fawn Oates leads the discussion, with Part Two coming up next month.

Miss Eden Lane takes us to the 'burbs to visit Ballet Nouveau Colorado, a ballet troupe that deserves some serious attention. BNC Executive Director Lissy Garrison and Artistic Director Garrett Ammon are in the studio to talk about the troupe, some recent productions, and the on-going "21st Century Choreography Competition" -- along with video of three of the contestants.

Rick Miller is on hand to give us the news of the local and world-wide community. Oklahoma Representative Sally Kern defends her homophobic remarks, the US pledges more support to the fight against AIDS, a gay Iranian man gets another chance at saving his life, and the GLAAD Awards honor some special people and organizations.

Professor Fawn offers up some advice and counsel to some folks with questions about sex and relationships and, as always, encourages us to "have fun and play safe".

Our good friends at Landmark Theatres have given us 10 pairs of tickets for some of our lucky viewers to go see a great new movie by gay writer and director Gus van Sant. It has skateboards, trains, shower scenes, and murder -- what more could you want?? We have a preview of the movie and, of course, the secret code word that lets you enter the free ticket drawing on our website at ColoradoOutSpoken.org.

Host Stephen Montez brings it all to you. So plan on staying up late next Sunday (or figure out how to program that Tivo or VCR!) and watch the March edition of Colorado OutSpoken.

Sunday, March 30 at 10:00 PM on KBDI Channel 12.

See you then!

Join me at the Bear to Make a Difference event.

In observance of the 10 years since the death of Matthew Shepard, the Matthew Shepard Foundation has announced plans to launch an aggressive anti-hate campaign aimed at engaging the general public in the mission to"Replace Hate with Understanding, Compassion and Acceptance." Judy Shepard will unveil the new campaign during the 7th Annual Bear to Make a Difference Gala Dinner and Celebrity Teddy Bear Auction, which will take place on Saturday, March 29th beginning at 5:30 pm at Westin Tabor Center, 1672 Lawrence St in Denver.

This is my 6th year covering this important and moving event. Come by and say hello.
Also, Eden Lane and Tom Biddle will be at Club M at Hamburger Mary's 700 E. 17th March 28th at 9pm. Doors open at 8pm Ave doing a interview with Alex Mapa, from Ugly Betty, TransAmerican Love Story and Desperate Housewives who is this years entertainment at Bear to Make a Difference.

I'll have last years coverage of Bear to Make a Difference that included a interview with Alex Mapa as well as other interviews I have done for Colorado OutSpoken posted soon on Myspace.com/Stephenmtz under videos. Check them out.

Special Segment for March 30 show

We just completed taping for the March 30th show. This was the first time I stayed for the entire night's work. What a great team!

I am very excited about the segment I moderated. The guests were from Ballet Nouveau Colorado.
This exciting, young, and yes, sexy company is having a major season! Make sure to catch the show on PBS - KBDI channel 12 at 10 PM Sunday March 30th to get a sneak peek of the next event. There will be time to get a ticket so you can see it all in person too!

experience the evolution.
